Club Ride Sunday 2 February  2014

Club ride Sunday 3rd March 2014

Mock hunt Sunday 16th march 2014

Schooling thur 10th April 2014

Sunday 6th April 2014
Thank you to Joan and her merry helpers for organising and taking our February ride.  It was a friendly, fun ride up Sharplaw and through Lanton Woods.  Even had a few wee canters.   Apart from the odd wee shower the weather held up for our ride.  Great to see everyone turned up with hi -viz gear, well done.   Also welcome to new members - hope you enjoyed our company.

club ride Sunday 3rd March - Thank you to Lorraine Kirk for organising this ride, a total of 24 riders set out on the ride, with 3 taking the shorter option,  round the tracks and roads at Crailing Hall,  The weather was kind, and the ride was thoroughly enjoyed by all, even the folk that got a wee bit wet crossing the water!

This years mock hunt was organised by the Shepherd family, there were a total of 24 riders, 7 of whom took part in the shorter ride. The fast ride was kindly lead by Mr Sandy Mcmorran from the College Valley Hunt, both rides left from the Haugh at Yetholm, the larger ride crossing the river Bowmont, and the smaller ride taking the route through the village of Yetholm. Both rides experiences all types of terrain, from tracks to hills, the Huntsman set a cracking pace in pursuit of our riding club foxes, namely Alex Turnbull and Lewis Marshall, assisted by his hound for the day Paul Fairbairn. The pursuit of the foxes led the ride by the Hospital woods, Halterburn, and over by Stob Stanes, and back to the Haugh for a most welcome drink and bite to eat.  The smaller ride encountered and managed to eventually catch the two foxes they were chasing- they were pretty elusive at first!
A special mention must go to Doreen, Dave and Poppi Shepherd for organising the ride, and for their brilliant hospitality, everyone had a great day, the sun shone and everyone was smiling! Same time next year!

Two groups of 3 members, attended the schooling session kindly instructed by Sarah Harrison.  The focus of the lesson was to work on grid work, building up to a bounce, and keeping straight after the jump. Some even had a go at jumping the grid without stirrups!

Sunday ride kindly organised and led by Judith King. 21 riders left from gospel hall and rode down through the village of Lanton, and up the hill through Lanton woods, they then followed the road just before Sharplaw, and through Jedburgh itself. A very well behaved group of horses and ponies had a brisk trot through the town and up the Castlegate taking a left turn back on to the tracks passing Todlaw farm taking us up by the golf course. By this time the heavens had opened, and everyone was soaked, so we turned left on to the road and over the Dunion back to Gospel hall. We'll done to everyone who braved the weather, and everyone who assisted.
